Native American Art

One way that the Native American culture expresses their beliefs is through art. Some examples of Native American art are totem poles, quilt weaving, ceramics, and paintings. Native American art is often full of symbols, especially of living things such as animals and people.

Pottery

Native Americans express their culture through pottery. Though the design varied greatly from tribe to tribe, the technique used was the same. The pottery was typically created by the women in the tribe and it was shaped by hand. Tribes from the Southwest portion of North America were most likely to create pottery.
